The 6th generation Thermo-6 temperature control units from HB-Therm set new standards in terms of quality. The basic equipment of the units already shows that the highest demands are met here: speed-controlled, seal-less pump made of stainless steel (IE4), heating elements without direct medium contact, fast and accurate ultrasonic flow rate measurement as well as low-scaling cooling with plate heat exchanger are just some of the numerous technological highlights. Further functions such as proportionally controlled cooler bypass (for units above 100°C), pressure-shock-free cooling with proportional valve, controlled system pressure superimposition, hydraulic circuit made of corrosion-resistant materials as well as integrated cooling water and return-line filter round off the configuration. A speed-controlled pump as standard is not only an ecological but also a qualitative obligation for HB-Therm, which positively influences the service life of individual components. The Energy Control Assistant supports the user in reaching the optimum operating point with higher energy-saving potential without compromising quality. The exclusive "Direct-Drive" pump guarantees an efficiency at temperatures up to 100°C that is 20 percent higher than in other units.
Quality workmanship: function and safety
The Thermo-6 units are equipped with high-quality and durable components that ensure flawless function and results. The various pump modes are controlled automatically, based on temperature difference, flow rate or speed. For straightforward handling, there is also the boost function for high-performance applications. An energy display with wizards for optimising operation, 3-phase heating control with wear-free solid-state relays and current measurement, as well as selectable cyclical system water exchange ensure lasting quality of work. Continuous process reliability is also a top priority, for example with standard pump status monitoring, process monitoring with automatic limit value setting, hose rupture and leakage monitoring or sensor monitoring. The installed frequency converters comprise automatic rotating field adjustment and current measurement. Due to all these hardware and software features, the Thermo-6 units are cleanroom compatible as standard.
Quality communication: operation and displays
The control system is a decisive component of production technology and is largely responsible for the efficient execution of the production process. Fast, simple and clear operation is essential here. The temperature control units are equipped with a 7-inch IPS touchscreen that offers interactive user guidance in several languages, making them easy to operate for any user. An intelligent system helps optimise, warn and report on operation. The units offer the possibility to record process data, display unit history, certificates, calibration data, operating and installation instructions as well as other unit-specific documents quickly and clearly. The five different basic displays provide clear information about the process, actual values, trend, energy and maintenance at the touch of a button. The extended functions meet the requirements of modern production technologies and provide access to the digital world of HB-Therm. Exporting historical data is simple and can be done fully automatically via the e-cockpit app if desired. A help system with context-related information and extended help in the local language via QR code to the internet-based HB-Therm knowledge platform "Knowledge" provide additional support and know-how.
